Education System in Modern India

The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards

It was once said that teaching is one of the most noble professions, teachers have ever since been given a different status in the society..... nothing has changed over the years.. teachers are still in a different strata of society and they are still respected beyond words.... but........

Education has ruined everything... I am sure that you have heard the famous quoatation "I am a learned, but education ruined me".. and why not... see around you and you would see institutes opening up.. being affilated to various xyz universities and doing buisness on the pretext of giving you a degree...!!!

Even the famous insitutes - the regional institutes have become a place where politics has become a way of life, where you have to pay special visits to your profs to pass in your papers.. so where does this one lead to???

Two years back when I was trying to get myself admitted into an engineering college... the institutes directly asked for so much of money that I could have easily fainted..(thank God.. I din't faint or even get into engineering)... I realised that this is the way admissions have been going on.... where non-deserving students pay up on the management seats and fill up seats for the deserving candidates...!!!

And to top it all, once you get into the college, you realise that there is lot more trouble coming your way - with the seniors stripping you naked for the fun of ragging you and the mess food stinks.. and the bathrooms overflow.

The proffesors stink.. and hardly care if you have understood any thing all.. apart from this you have what is known as the college politics...student union.. demands which are never met.. strikes which cut down the semesters.. the life sure is hectic...

But in the midst of it all where did the learning part go??? where is that art of teaching where apart from the books.. moral values were also instilled in the kids.. where is the quality education that we have heard about from our parents and grandparents???

Its down there somewhere... but archived in the liberary shelves.. where no one wants to go....!!!! Our nation is being handed over to us in bits every ear.. and we dont know what to do.. coz.. we just care about the degree in our hands....

If this is happening to us now.. imagine paying a donation of millions for just getting a degree for a kid... imagination quotient getting zero.. mechanical life getting the 100 % commitment....!!!

I am sure that there would be a time when you would stand in a line on a counter window.. and get your degree custom made to your needs...!!!

New Sensation in the Block

Hmm...I know, it's out of ordinary! Normally the guests of honor are introduced before they actually take the podium and wash the audience away with the waves of their words! Well actually, it's becoming increasingly difficult for me to keep my page updated, these days.

And moreover, although it's me who actually roped in Sakshi into the blogosphere, I found that she's starting to excel a lot above my expectations. The kinda insight and emotion she'd started to pour into her posts, I couldn't help but get in awe with them. Well, her last post about the mayhem in Mumbai moved me so much that I finally decided to request her to write in my page as well, whenever she feels like! I'm so very much thankful to her that she took up the offer quite readily and lo, she even writes a post in a day! So guys, I urge you to please welcome Sakshi to BlogSpot where, I am sure, she's gonna be very popular! Love you all...and keep Peace!!!

Enough is Enough...!!!

Two reasons for this title...first that this is probably the nth time that I started a blog....and thankfully till now the comp has not crashed...!!! And secondly - I'll talk about that part a li'l later.

Lemme atleast tell you who I am...I am Sakshi.. and my dear guy Shayon has invited me to be a guest blogger on his page...!!! Its not that I dont blog...I blog on Yahoo 360° but not here..!!!

Now for the second reason that I left for later - About one and a half week back mayhem struck the city of stars, when seven blasts rocked the city. The next day the entire nation stood united and applauded the "Spirit of Mumbai". I was one of them till I got to know that it were only those who were hardly affected by the blasts who stepped into the local trains the next day... ofcourse there were others also but you could see the fear in their eyes...nobody trusted anybody...!!!

Over years Mumbai has seen alot.. and its extremely commendable that through all its thick and thins, it stood out...and braved it all. The 1993 blasts, then the rain and the floods, the 7/11, everything... but now its enough... why are the innocent people being targeted...???

Mumbai has had enough, and that is what is the voice of evey mumbaikar... they are tired of having to face threats to move with a fear of life...Its high time they say that the entire nation should stand against slaughtering of innocent people in the name of politics...

Being a delhiite, I can easily shun the topic... but being an Indian.. I can't overlook the trauma and the pain that the people are suffering... I urge all people to stand united against the powers that are terrorising the country beyond limit.. its high time that we became Indians ... and not Hindus or Muslims or any other section, whatsoever...

'Coz tomorrow it could be you or me... the next victim of the world of terror... Truely - Enough is Enough...!!!
